OPERATION: ZOOMERS 2 BOOMERS
No one generation created the world’s problems.
No one generation is going to fix them.
Designed to tackle ageism through meaningful connections and thoughtful communication, Z2B was a cutting-edge, intergenerational program that redefined community-based activism. Every year, a new team of Z2B Lead Ravens took flight, organizing closely both within and outside of our community to build bridges across generations. Through compelling monthly roundtable discussions, Z2B brought people of all ages together to learn and unlearn from each other, problem solve, and take action as a united front.
Climate Change and Our Government
During this multi-generational roundtable, Z2B participants discussed the climate crisis, government response (or lack thereof), and solutions to the imminent global threat of a warming planet.
Religion in the 21st Century
Eighty-four percent of the world believes in some form of higher power and are affiliated with a religion. Yep, you read that right - 84 percent! With a world so polarized and becoming more and more divided, we can’t ignore the elephant in the room. Religion might play a big role in your life or it might not even cross your mind most days, but religion's impact can’t be denied. Whether you adhere to a religion or not, we can work to better understand each other.
Asian Solidarity
Much of activism is listening more than it is speaking. Older generations, specifically in the case of Asian communities, often feel silenced - it's our job to provide spaces where they can speak freely! During this Z2B, participants will discuss Asian solidarity, patriotism, hope, immigration, identity, and more.
Transgender Generational Experience
In this roundtable, participants discuss gender and their own experiences as trans and non-binary folks.
Police Brutally
After we all saw the murder of George Floyd and heard of the death of Breanna Taylor in the news, we watched as communities rose up and took to the streets to march for justice. America is massive, and the views and principles that one holds my not mesh with others. This Z2B, participants talked about policing in the US, Black Lives Matter (BLM), and more.
The Government’s Role in Schools
The U.S. Federal Government manages several programs to regulate schooling in America; however, states and localities play a large role in determining the nitty-gritty details of curriculum. What is the proper role of the government in the school system? What should government involvement look like? Should it exist at all? We’re tackling these difficult questions and more in this upcoming roundtable discussion!

From polluting surrounding communities to accelerating the impacts of climate change and contributing to global warming, animal agriculture has devastating effects on our planet and everyone living on it. The Future of Animal Agriculture
The Raven Corps has partnered with the newly formed group, Farm Transition Academy, to spread knowledge on the importance of farm transitions. Farm Transition Academy formed in June of last year to help animal-based farmers transition to plant-based agriculture, while training animal advocates in the process. This roundtable event will be an intergenerational discussion on the importance of farm transitions and their function in the progressive world of agriculture. This event is open to all who want to learn more about sustainable agriculture and the process of creating a more ethical food system. We want this to be a productive conversation with many takeaways! We’re bringing people of all ages together in a respectful space where collaboration is key and everyone is heard.
The Evolution of US Food Culture
Z2B Roundtable participants, from all backgrounds and walks of life, discuss "The Evolution of US Food Culture".
