OPERATION: 13

SLAVERY WAS NEVER ABOLISHED IN THE UNITED STATES.

Corporations continue to profit off of the often unpaid and forced labor of prisoners in our prison system — a system that, by design, feeds Americans (often lower-class, often BIPOC, often wrongfully incarcerated) into it.

On Prison Farms, prisoners are forced to exploit and abuse animals on facilities that are often incredibly hazardous. So it’s not only humans suffering, it’s non-human animals too — both, in turn, reduced to numbers in the exploitative, capitalist system we live in.

Our prison system as a whole is a collective liberation issue — and now we’re building a campaign around it.

We’re combatting prison farm labor one company at a time, holding them accountable FOR USING SLAVE LABOR TO TURN A PROFIT.

In our new operation, we’re educating the general public about our prison systems and the oppression they perpetuate through their use of involuntary servitude on Prison Farms. We’re also putting pressure on well-known companies still using prison labor DESPITE their own company policies against it.

SO Why are we calling this operation:13?

The 13th Amendment states that slavery and involuntary servitude are STILL LEGAL as punishment for a crime. At the risk of repeating ourselves — this is in a system that intentionally feeds Americans into prisons and is DESIGNED to profit off of prisoners.

Prisoners are not just numbers. Our prison system is fucked up, and it’s on us to do something about it.

SO What’s next?

We’re gathering our numbers and our research right now. We’re also talking to others who are doing work on this issue. We’ve been featured on Animal Justice Academy (check out above) as well as several other podcasts coming up. In the meantime, make sure you’re following us on insta for more educational + collaborative content. Also make sure you’re subscribed to our newsletter so you don’t miss a thing in our fight.

We’re done standing by while corporations make a profit out of the most vulnerable & marginalized people in our society.
